The 2004 Australian Rally Championship promises to deliver more
close and exciting competition as the top seeds in the series look forward to
the next competition year and a brand new calendar of events.
We are still one event away from the 2003 series being over with the
championship to be decided at the final round, the Subaru Safari Tasmania, in
two weeks.
The release of the 2004 calendar comes at a time when teams are making plans for
next year's season.
The 2004 Australian Rally Championship will kick off in the west, opening in
Western Australia at the Respect Yourself Forest Rally based in the tourist town
of Busselton.
The 2004 calendar is a little different from 2003, due in part to Rally
Australia moving to the November date and also the desire of the Australian
rally organisers to place their events at times best suited to those events.
The major changes for 2004 are: an earlier date for the Subaru Rally of
Canberra, a move from September to June for Subaru Safari Tasmania, a later date
in the month for Coopers Pale Ale Rally SA, a move from July to August for the
Premier State Rally and the later date for our world championship event, Telstra
Rally Australia in November.
