The car came back from Premier Panel Beating today (Friday). Keith and his boys did a miracle!
The car chassis was much worse than expected, the tree
moved everything back so much that the top engine mount (under the intercooler
for you Subaru owners) pushed the fire wall back, and in turn bent the tunnel
and sucked in the A pillars on both sides so much that the doors were out of
alignment!
They saved the rails and managed to pull everything back square, Nick the painter completed the panels today with help from our paint partner Standox.
Andrew, Shane, Peter, Marcus and myself worked back to 11pm Thursday nite and welded up a few cracks and repaired some torn captive bolts in the floor pan that the (new!) tail shaft bolts up to.
The engine is ready to go in, so is the rebuilt gearbox and differential. The boys recon they can have it drivable by Friday!!!
We plan to work all day Sunday, to finish all the small jobs so we have time Monday to do the wheel alignment and all the last minute jobs!
