Update - 21st March 2001
The team have been left champing at the bit after the untimely cancellation of the 2001 Central Coast round of the NSW Rally Championship. The opening round, which we'd planned as a systems check, test session and serious attempt at a great local event, was scheduled for the weekend of March 17/18 but teams were confronted with torrential rain and impassable roads on arrival at the Central Coast.
(Brian Hilton 2GO State Round rescheduled to 6-7 October.)
The ARC season opener in WA (March 31 - April 1) is just a little too far away, (10,000 km round trip!) but that allows the luxury of extra prep time and testing so we can make a serious challenge for the Privateers Championship of the ARC from Canberra onwards. Focus is now firmly on the Subaru Rally of Canberra from May 3 - 6 though the chance of a State round in the meantime is on the cards - we'll keep you informed and all the MRT mechanics and a host of hard working volunteers are working hard to get the team set for National competition.
The team spirit is testament to the enthusiasm of some fine people and a host of supportive companies who provide a combination of cash and components/services to keep the wheels of the team turning.
