Year to date
This weekend we compete in the Bega Valley Rally on the NSW South Coast. As this
is the second event for MRT, its been a lean year so far!
The first two events in the NSW Championship, were postponed due to rain, and this is the first event to run, with Wyong (Rd 1) and Oberon (Rd 2) re-scheduled for later in the year. MRT's only other event so far was the Subaru Canberra International rally. (Asia Pacific event Rnd 1), with MRT having elected to skip the Australian Rally Championship Rd 1 and Rd 2, Western Australia, and Queensland (this coming weekend).
Budget limits
The decision by Brett Middleton (driver) and Andrew Benefield (Co Driver) this
year is to carefully choose events with the plan to contest the New Zealand WRC
event (September) and hopefully then return to Jamaica in December.
Unfortunately as Queensland is the weekend immediately after Bega this event was dropped as the team had competed (in Qld) at this event for many years forcing the team to miss the "hallowed" roads of Bega, often referred to as "Rally Heaven" So Bega was chosen this year.
