Heat 2 began early morning at King Street Wharf. After the 45 minute transport to Wyong, MRT were set to reverse the previous days ordeals.

With the weather clear, the roads in the forest quite dry and hard, today's special stages consisted of two roads repeated twice, including the long and fast Watagan Road.

Heat 2 turned out to be a trouble free run for the MRT team. The Citibank Ready Credit Subaru Impreza STi ran faultlessly all day, with the average speed for the Watagan Road Special Stage over 120km/h. This all set the basis for a great result for MRT placing them 8th overall in Heat 2.
