Coopers Pale Ale Rally of SA - Adelaide
With pre
event Reconnaissance and scrutiny complete, MRT and the Citibank Ready Credit /
EcuTeK Subaru, are ready for the coming (4th) round of the Australian Rally
Championship.
To be held in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, the event will start
with a super special stage in the confines of the Wayville Showground, this year
however crews are faced with a revised track and cars starting outside the horse
trotting track and entering the arena full throttle over a jump. Two laps of the
track with a chicane and another (smaller) jump will complete the course.
Last year the grandstands were filled to capacity with eager spectators, and
this was in pouring rain, so the same is (at least) expected again.
Weather forecasts predict clear weather and this could change radically over the
weekend with rain and hail!.
The roads this year are also further improved, with support from local
government and forestry the shire and forest roads have been upgraded in may
areas to accommodate the 70 crews that will punish the roads with their high HP
rally cars..
"Several new roads are also added, these are some of the best rally roads in
Australia and in the past Adelaide was known for fast straight stages, this has
changed with more support from local residents who allow the roads to be
officially closed for the weekend" team driver Brett said.
The teams Subaru WRX has a revised look, with brighter signage for EcuTeK (the
teams other primary partner) and yellow panels replacing the silver, makes the
car stand out.
"We wanted a fresh look, and with the recent repairs by Premier Panel Beating
the opportunity presented itself" Said Team Co Driver Andrew Benefield.
Cars start Wayville Friday night at 7.00pm and then are out in the forest proper
Saturday 8.23 AM and again Sunday 7.30AM
